Thats one thing that im worried about too is the kind of formula she would be able to take.idk if it would be hereditary or not but I was allergic to milk and couldn't have any lactose formula.I had to be on soy formula.
Breast is easier on a baby's stomach. Forumla is super rough. I got an infection in my milk duct and was only able to breastfeed for a month..once I whiched my daughter to forumla it was extremely rough on her. We went through 7 different formulas before we found one that worked for her!
I've heard that too but I wouldn't recommend doing it. The formula and breast milk together could mess the baby's stomach up. But it all depends on your baby! You can mix it but I wouldn't recommend doing it.
Ok thanks.at first I was dead set on bottle feeding but now im really wanting to breast feed.ive also heard that after so many weeks you can mix it with formula instead of it all being breast milk.
Oh and nursing pads. Lots and lots of nursing pads.
Don't give up! It's gonna hurt the first couple of weeks but after that it'll be ok. Dint start pumping until after 4 weeks to establish your milk production. The only con would be you can't drink..well you can but you have to wait a certain amount of hours before you'll be able to breastfeed again and certain things you can't eat like spicy foods. You can get a nursing bra although I didn't have one I made it work. But when you pump you'll need a pump and the bags to put the milk in.
My mom told me that if I'm going to breastfeed that I really have to stick with it for every feeding. A pump is useful for going back to work but it doesn't stimulate your breasts the same way baby does so you can lose milk production if you pump a lot at first rather than feeding directly.
