well said trying43, i couldnt agree more. you just have to remember not to put baby on your breast constantly or you will end up very sore that is how i knew my daughter need more then i had to offer. Alway try to keep them awake to eat so they get full and eat less often it is easier on your nips
There is a breastfeeding forum and the ladies there can give you a lot of info. The recommended time for breastfeeding is a year. You will be sore at first until you learn how to latch the baby on correctly. Your nips will toughen up and your soreness will go away pretty quick. I agree with the other poster about the formula. The more of it you feed the less supply you will have. You are better off pumping. If you can't afford one look for a used one that you can replace the tubing and parts on. You can also rent one. Be careful about introducing a bottle too early, you don't want nipple confusion. Good luck you will do great.
you can do both no problem i did i cannot produce enough breast milk to only nurse so i supplement formula but if you produce alot of milk you could just pump and save the extra to give baby when you are working.
if you cannot pump cause no pump then you can use both i used formula too and no problems
I don't know your financial situation but check into your wic office here where i live they actually loan pumps out or they will give you a 300$one if you breastfeed for so long. buy some of the cream for your nipples and i always heard it only hurts if your doing it wrong.....wasn't able to bf with my 1st praying i can with 2nd. goodluck
You could alternate just keep in mind the more formula you give the less milk you'll produce. Unless you pump often to make up for the formula! And breastfeed as long as you can, the more the better, but that's a personal choice. I'm breastfeeding when my lil man is born if he decides to latch, hopefully for about a year. Then ween him off so I could go back to school!
