I am a breast feeding mum. all the other mums have told you loads of pros so il be honest and tell you some cons..

When your standing on a crowded bus with nowhere to sit and baby is screaming for a feed you cant just give him a bottle (unless you can express. i couldnt get milk out with a pump) or when your half way round the shopping centre and baby wants milk you have to go find somewhere your comfortable to feed instead of just giving a bottle. You are the only person that can feed your baby so you dont get a break. if you bottlefeed then anyone can feed baby while you get a break.. you will feel like a milk maid sometimes as baby will be on boob every 10 mins... On bottles they do get fuller for longer. but they sick and get a lot more wind. Breast is best by far for many reasons but its not for everyone. as long as you try then be proud coz alot of women wont even give there babys the colostrum.. (1st milk you have that is the best milk baby could ever have) the protection you and baby get from breast feeding is incredible. it helps protect you from breast cancer and loads more. it helps you lose weight quicker. it also helps protect against another pregnancy. i breast fed for a year and didnt get pregnant once.. never used condoms or contraception. The best thing about breastfeeding is laying in bed next to baby and looking eachother in eyes as there feeding... its a magical feeling. knowing that your providing for your child in the best way. it may be hard sometimes when all you want is to go out with your friends or your partner but cant coz baby needs your boobs but its worth it... Hopefully you can express too wich would make it even better for you.. like i said i couldnt get milk out so it was harder for me..

I have 3 children already. My first was bottle fed and got every bug going, my second I breast fed the longest and other than chicken pox didn't get as much as a cold for the first year and now if she gets ill it is much milder than anyone else gets it. My third was breast fed for 2 months and didn't get sick until he started nursery. It could be coincidence but I strongly believe that breast feeding has a significant impact on their immune system. I'll be breast feeding this baby for as long as possible!

I will definitely be breastfeeding.  Breast milk has antibodies in it that prevent cancer!  It's great bonding, you lose weight super fast, and you don;t gotta get up in the middle of the night to make bottles!

Breast is best. There has been proven fact that formula can cause long term health problems. Autoimmune diaeases from their lil bodies not being able to digest properly. Diabetes, chrohns disease and others are on the rise for younger children these days.

My baby is 2 weeks old and like ktowne said I'm already below my ore pregnancy weight. I wasn't able to breastfeed my first child as easily and I really can tell a difference. I'd say breastfeed all the way.

I'm breastfeeding just because of all the pro's. If you do decide to formula feed, you'll generally be judged (more by doctors, nurses, etc.) for not breastfeeding your baby. Remember that it's your choice and do not think about other's opinions or what they say to you. Do what's best for you and baby :)

Yeah I plan on breastfeeding, it is better for mom and baby. It increase hormones to help your uterus shrink back down quicker, and sometimes helps to stop your lochia(after birth period like discharge) sooner. Breastfeeding has more pros than cons, but it just isnt for some people. Formula can cause gas, spitting up, constipation an on average more colic than breastfeeding. Also with breastfeeding everythings ready to go, just add baby. No heating, measuring or washing bottles. If you arent comfortble full on breast feeding though, yoi can opt to pump your breasts an bottle feed that way without the expense of formula.

I'll be breastfeeding, the antibodies and nutrients that your baby gets while breastfeeding can't be repeated in formula, it's so so much better for the baby to breastfeed. It's a GREAT bonding experience, so rewarding and it helps most mommy's lose a ton of weight. I had my son breastfed exclusively for 2 weeks and was below my prepregnancy weight by then, with no change in diet or exercise. It was soo great. You can always try breastfeeding and if it's not something you like you can always switch to formula. The only con that I can think of with breastfeeding is you have to be careful of what you eat/drink/medicines etc. because it's basically the same as pregnancy as far as it passing through to the baby.
