A lot of doctors are saying pump and dump isn't true anymore. If you feel sober, your milk is sober. One beer will not affect you/milk/baby. In fact they say if you, drink an occasional dark beer, the yeast will help increase your milk supply.

For every drink you have its an hour for your body to get rid off one is fine just wait an hour

You can pump before drinking that way baby has a fresh breast & when you drink a beer or more you can pump then dump. Give it an hour or more to give baby a fresh breast.

The test strips are absolutely garbage. I've seen women test positive 12 hours after having one beer. Which is completely ridiculous.
Pump and dump is a myth. It doesn't help you metabolize alcohol any faster. It doesn't do anything except waste precious milk.
You've got the right idea. Nurse baby, put baby to bed, have a beer. The alcohol from one beer can't and won't cause any negative effects whatsoever by the time your baby is ready to eat again. Obviously make sure you're drinking water as well, especially since alcohol is a diuretic and dehydrates you somewhat.
Dark beers and yeasty beers especially are good for your milk supply. A good Hefeweisen... yum. Sounds lovely.

My doctor told me that you feed and if you want a beer/ glass of wine, you can do it then.  I wasn't a big drinker----  but one beer after nursing should be fine.  If you are worried.  Just pump and dump the next feeding in a few hours and use already pumped breast milk at that feeding.

good luck sweetie.

Oh, and the thing about safe to drive, safe to nurse is that everyone is so different.  I get to a blood alcohol level much faster than my husband---  literally I can feel buzzed from one drink.  (as many non drinkers or light, occasional drinkers do.).  My husband and I have a rule, if you are the designated driver,  NO alcohol.  :>)  (just don't want any mama's thinking they can drive after drinking.  )

Dumping doesn't help when you drink. It takes up to two hours for your body to process any alcohol. So feed or pump first. I had problems with my supply as well so I use milky. You can find it at a motherhood store its all natural and has fenugreek in it.

One 12oz beer wont hurt your supply. The yeast will increase your supply significantly. I also suggest a alcohol free beer, not commonly found is retail stores but best to due research in your area to find the beer. I also suggest B-12, mothers milk tea and feenugreek, they all help in milk supply amazingly and help with weight loss as well. These three are most definitely found in retail stores.
