Yes like they said use a shield. I had to get one because i also dont want to bottle my son and i have like no nipples so it was so hard for him to get a good latch but wit the shield is so perfect now he doesnt struggle . I really recomend it
Maybe baby is colicky my baby did the same thing and was colicky. But anyway no to can't over feed baby if they're hungry they'll let you know and if they overeat worse that can happen is spit up or they pull away from the nipple.
Ive heard nipple guards too early can effect ur supply. U want to wait until u feel ur supply is set before using one.. id wait another week for the nipple guard but its recommended..
He may not be getting full feeds. Does he fall asleep before you switch breasts? Do you wake him to get him to keep eating or just let him sleep? It may help to keep him awake as long as you can. Tickle him under the chin if he stops sucking, change his diaper when he falls asleep to wake him up. Strip him down so he's in just a diaper and a bit cold and it may keep him awake. All that being said, his tummy is about the size of a cherry right now so he will need to eat frequently. I wouldn't make him wait the extra hour, as it will be stressful to him and bad for your supply. Good luck mama!
thank you ladies very helpful!
No its not too much. Your baby is cluster feeding. It will space out I promise and it gets better. Your baby is helping your supply by doing this. Breastfed baby's don't really have a schedule they eat when they're hungry and you should feed them when they're hungry
I always put frozen veggie bags on my chest when my nipples were screaming:P it'll pass, best of luck to you
I pumped until my nipples got better n now my baby girl is able to latch on good than she did when I first had her she's 2weeks now!
try using Lansinoh it works great!
Try using a shield to bbreast feed its a plastic shield that covers your nipple while breast feeding
