career crisis! need advice

I'm a Cna and before getting pregnant was planning to study and become an rn and then a crna.

Tbh idk if nursing is even what I really want to do. I love business and cosmetology and am good business wise. Granted I'm an excellent nurse and in emergency situations I am always one to keep everyone organized and composed.

After I have my baby idk what to do. I'm finally out of my moms house and she's the one that always put down my business goals because "its not for sure" and medicine will always be in demand. But my heart is really telling me I should look into a career change. Plus I hate how in the medical field I am always giving up my weekends nights and all my holidays because there are no vacations in that field. Thus a major reason why I never liked the field to begin with. I love my patients, but I wanna be with my family on a mor normal schedule more than I want the "always in demand" career.

Any advice or someone go through the same situation. I don't want to make the wrong decision because right now is my last chance to really settle myself in a career choice and build up my career as I raise my daughter.

Ha I'm like in the same boat.. I'm a CNA right now too but I'm in home care And have 2 clients I work with. I'm lucky that one of them is a little boy and his mom has become such a great friend of mine. I can even bring my baby to her house to work after he or she is born... But how many weeks are you? Don't stress too much. You need to decide what it is you really have your heart set on.. Don't let others steer you :) good luck to you!!

I'm 30. But I work overnight so when I go back I have days to go to school and my husband's mom doesn't work and my husband also works overnights so I have the support to go to school. Being so close to having her I really wanna figure out what I want to do so I can go back to school and focus

I feel my mom has always driven my career choices because in HS I was offered to study theatre in London and she would not support me if I went, I wanted to study cosmetology since I was already doing hair and makeup but again being young she said I had to move out and support my education alone if I did. I was only helped with paying for school if I did science or medicine. I really like business and because I know how rewarding it is, I love the critical thinking of it, and I know I can make good money to support my family if I stick to it. Its just hard for me to get my mother out of my head and go in a direction that I want

I understand that can be hard :( I'm sorry your mom has always been that way but you have to think of you and your family now and what's best plus it's your life and you need to do something YOU want... Or else you just won't be happy. You're older now so go after what you want. You sound very determined and like you want the very best for you and your family so I say go for it.. You have a family of your own now. You mom shouldn't dictate your life and career choices!
