I only read the first few comments. But baby can poop after 37 weeks castor oil will not cause this at all. Just drink lots of water because it can cause the poops which can cause dehydration.

Best way to take it(which worked for me and eliminated the taste) SHAKE 1 tbsp castor oil in I cup oj then repeat 3 hours later. The shaking will eliminate the big globs of oil. Good luck.

For mothers, alot of you are being quite childish. If you cant be polite on a simple question then keep your opinion to yourself. I was willing to listen to the constructive critizism but theres a fine line between that & just being plain rude & you's have definitely passed it.

Sorry to the original poster. I was not trying to be rude on your post but could not help but to correct what I know to be wrong. I was not trying to argue with anyone.

I'm not arguing.  You are trying make it seem like castor oil is dangerous and all these risks when u don't know what you're talking about. And u just told someone to stfu? And we're being rude? Okay.

Not everything passes the placenta you are wrong. That is why some medications ate safe and some are not. Some stuff your Dr would give you would make your baby very sick if it actually passed the placenta. You can listen to as many mothers as you would like but I am a nurse a mother of five and have my sixth due in 24 days. I have done my research and have taken my self. Until you have the experience I have you can stfu. I am tired of some of the young or young acting mothers who think they know everything, I am not speaking of all young mothers but the rude ones that want to run their mouths about stuff they heard and know nothing about.

I am sure of it. Everyone has different experiences with certain things. I've heard positive stories of castor oil too but more negative than positive. I said I "personally" wouldn't do it. I didn't say she cannot do it! Lol I feel sorry for you two. At least I have the decency to accept what your opinions are. You two on the other are plain rude

Ladies! i was asking for recipes, not a lecture. I know the risks & statistics, like i said in the question: im still DEBATING on it. If you personally dont believe in the use of it, then thats good for you, but you shouldnt argue with those with experience. Again im only looking for recipes IF i decide to take it.

Don't take this offensive, but you need to talk to your doctor and not believe everything you hear.

I would advise taking it straight( two table spoons three to four hours later taking another two table spoons if needed. Drink plenty of water walk and clean your house to make the contractions stronger and faster. Taking two doses instead of one helps prevent diarrhea and nausea. I had soft bowel movements from it but no diarrhea or vomiting and it worked for me twice.

If you don't wanna "risk" castor oil simply don't take it. But, don't give advice on something that you're not sure of.

Stfu Wyattsmom2015. Just because I've been told by other mothers what they have experienced with castor and passed it on doesn't make it wrong.

How can castor not pass through the placenta? If the mother digests something does it not go to the baby? Why is castor oil an acception? I respect what you have to say but that's your opinion. You go through 3 miscarriages and see what your willing NOT to do to save your child's life.

Your welcome. People that have no clue about something should not comment on the subject. They should leave the comments to people who have done extensive research looking into the studies done and have actually had experience with taking castor oil or pooping with out it.

Castor oil is safe after 39 weeks you'll either get diarrhea or nauseous or nothing will happen. I drank it with orange juice hardly tasted it but nothing happened

There is not a 50 percent chance. I am a nurse and it goes out through the intestinal tract never entering blood stream or passing the placenta and not going to baby.

A baby can poop after becoming full term no matter what you do. I have taken castor oil with all five previous pregnancies. Castor oil does not pass the placenta so it will not make baby poo. Many women have babies that poo and most take nothing and lots of mothers take castor oil and most have babies that don't poo.

You just said baby's don't poop, they urinate...? Why don't u just ask your doctor? It's perfectly safe after 37 weeks.

Exactly. It didn't take castor oil to make your child poo, so why increase the risk with castor oil?
