checking cervix

So I will be 36 weeks on this thursday and my doc wants to start checking my cervix from here on out starting at this 36 week appointment. This is my 2nd pregnancy and with my first he waited until 37 or 38 atleast. Dose anyone think that 36 weeks is early since im not considered full term yet to check? Or do a lot of doctors do it at 36?

Mine didn't check until I was already in labour. They offered a membrane sweep at 39 weeks but I declined.

I started getting checked at 36 maybe it all depends on this pregnancy medical history,I was dilated already when he started checking me only because I had sings of early labor I think

Yes. It might stir things up. I'd at least wait until 38 weeks.
