cramping during pregnancy

Is it normal to have cramping, similar to, but much less than, those of premenstrual cramps?  I'm in my 12th week, and have been having some lower abdominal cramping-nothing severe, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this during pregnancy?

Just wanted to add that YES it's normal. It does stop eventually but then you'll have all sorts of other new twinges and sensations to get used to. Congrats on your baby!

Totally normal unless it is followed by severe cramping and blood or tissue loss.  since you are heading to the end of your first trimester, it could now be round ligament pain.  But, if you want an answer from a pro, i'd call your doctor.  It's totally normal is what my doc said and that if you don't cramp, then there would be a problem b/c that means your uterus isn't growing/stretching.
