Crazy dreams are very common during pregnancy. I read it some where that it's your brain's way of relieving anxiety, that woman who had a lot of crazy dreams during pregnancy have less chance of postpartum depression.
I got a lot of nightmares too towards the end, as anxiety and stress build up.
I'm sorry you have so many bad one. Maybe try doing something relaxing or take a bubble bath before you go to sleep, Try music or read something that relax your mind. The dream normally lessen as you enter second trimester.
Hang in there.
I had crazy dreams in the beginning but they seem to have stopped... every now and then I may have one but not much.. how far are u??
Hello there Cera Beth --
I went through exactly the same thing each time I was pregnant! I always had 'creative' dreams, even as a child - but I wasn't exactly expecting them with my pregnancies. I asked my doctor about them and he said that it was probably a by product of being concerned about my unborn child. I'm afraid that I just didn't buy that explanation. My dreams were always deep and dark. You're probably not going to believe this, but I used to have concentration camp dreams as well!! Pregnancy is supposed to be such a good time .... I don't know why I had such seriously disturbing dreams. I can only assume it had to do with my crazy hormonal body! Years later, I still have stupid dreams (even my husband thinks so) but nothing like what I went through when pg. When each of my pregnancies ended, so did the bizarre dreams. So obviously the changes that affected my body were also affecting my brain chemistry as well. All you can do is accept them for what they are, a by product of massive hormonal changes. There is nothing the doctor's change do about it ... so unfortunately you are going to HAVE to accept the dreams for what they are and get the rest/sleep that you you need! As unsettling as your dreams are, you will survive them and they will come to an end when your lovely baby arrives - take my word for it! If you need to chat, feel free to message me any time, okay?? Take care sweetie!
