Implantation or Menstural Bleeding?

Hello,

I'll try to make everything as precise as I can.

So... My girlfriend has been back in the states ( gone for 5 months to africa ) since Dec 18, 2013. We've been sexually active until Jan 4, 2013. I used a condom every time. There was 1 time at the start of sex then I penetrated her for 3 strokes without a condom. Other than that, condom every time. I'd check at the end to make sure no breakage had occurred.

My girlfriend just started 9 last thursday ) living in a guest home. She told me a couple was staying there with a baby. They ( the couple with the baby ) had all became sick. The woman started vomiting.

Yesterday, my girlfriend told me she wasn't feeling good the entire day. She'd become really anxious and nauseous. She also told me she was cramping and had started her period ( blood was regular bright red and typical amount of blood. Not light ). Later on in the night, she vomited and had diarrhea.

I thought it was cause for concern and possible pregnancy. She said no, it's a normal cycle. Dec 23rd was the end of her last cycle. Which would make it a typical 28 days.

Today she woke up feeling a lot better. Nothing to report yet of vomiting. The period has continued. More red blood.

Is their any cause for concern about possible pregnancy? Or would she need to wait to test for pregnancy at the time of a missed period?

Random tidbit-Not sure if this would have anything to do with whatever. but my girlfriend came back from Africa with typhoid fever. She was treated for it when she got back to the states. Which would make it over a month now. Just thought I should point that out.

Thanks for all your help.

She ( girlfriend ) just took a pregnancy test on Feb 9...Negative. Her period was due Monday. She's normally a solid 29 days. So 2 days late as of today.

For anyone reading this post for the 1st time...Check out the previous post by me. It explains everything.

Thanks so much for your responses.

The bleeding lasted for 5 days from until the 24th. The fatigue and back pain continues. I can see the fatigue in her face. Wait until next period in mid Feb? Or go into the doc for a blood test/ultrasound? She's pretty confident that she's not pregnant. I feel like denial is starting to creep in. Sigh...

I'm starting to freak a little bit.

She tested on the 23rd of this month. Negative. She's been feeling a bit fatigued of late. But that's it. Nausea, Fatigue. Should we re-test? That was my big worry. Not sure if you had a chance to read the rest of the reposes. I put more info down. Thanks so much for responding.

Hi!
If your girlfriend was my patient, I would advise her to take a pregnancy test, but more for peace of mind than for any other reason.  If she had a normal period, the nausea was most likely caused by viral gastroenteritis and not pregnancy.
Hope this helps!

How do I get Elaine to comment on the situation?

Thanks for the reply.

The one this morning was negative as well. Gonna relax on this a bit. That would make it 18 days after the last sexual intercourse ( I wore a condom ).

To me, it sounds like she's on her period and she may be ill also. Unless she isn't bleeding like her normal period, ie. spotting then I wouldn't be concerned about pregnancy.

She just took a pregnancy test at home.  Negative. She'll do it again in the early am when she wakes up to be sure. I hope that I can put the thoughts to bed at this point.

My girlfriend went back to work again tonight. She's a nurse. Night shift. She just said she's having back pain. Of course, she thinks it's from not being on the job for so long. And of course I think...da da da dum...Opinions please.

Sounds like just her menstrual period. The other symptoms are probably due to the illness going around the house she lives in on top of everything that comes with her menstrual cycle. Hope this helps some!

Im pretty sure its her menstrual. Implantation rarely occurs and can be light red or dark brown, it should resemble an extremely light period. She may have had a stomach bug (:

More news...The last time we had sex was the 4th. She got a bunch of sit test including a HCG/Pregnancy test on the 16th. She got the word today that all was negative.

Anyone out there? Would appreciate a response from someone.

She just told me she's been dizzy while walking or turning her head. I think it may be time for the pregnancy kit. No throwing up today yet. But it appears that pregnancy would be the likely outcome.

Anyone?
