My female dog, Pit bull/boxer mix, is very protective of me once again. She was when I was pregnant with my daughter as well and she was just a puppy then. I was out walking her two days ago and my neighbor wanted to pet her, she knows him, and well he was not allowed to come close. She went in a stands growling and barking at him. If my df is with me then she is ok with other people.

If you think it's bad right now, wait until you have your baby. Your dogs will be on guard 24/7. I never had a dog, but my friends dog, who was literally scared of everything, never left my side when I was at their house. He wouldn't even let his owners near me or my baby.

I got really mad at my dog a couple days ago because he kept getting into fights with my cats. I soon came to the conclusion that he is really protective of me and baby because he now growls n bark at everything outside, my cats and my hubby too sometime.
