Hi!
You may have read that you should sleep on your left side.  Usually this means when you are quite far along, and by then, you won't be comfortable on your back any more either!
(sorry).  You don't have to roll all the way onto your side, it is enough just to prop a pillow or folded towel under your right hip so that you roll toward your left side to shift the baby off of your spine.  Usually babies don't like to be directly on your spine either.

Oh, and YES, the right side is OK too.

Good luck!

Hi,
ofcourse its safe on your back. I found sleeping on the side more comfortable with my first but I realised I would get a sore shoulder from the pressure as I had gained a fair bit of weight towards the end of the pregnancy. I've read that most ladies sleep on there left during their pregnancy.. so its all safe :) As long as its not on your tummy :)
