drug addicted mom to be :(

I'm sure the chances of there being many other similar scenarios are very close to none, but I am quite desperate to hear REAL life stories from REAL women and not just some article written years from now. here's my predicament...  I'm 21 and undergoing my first pregnancy with the most amazing man/father I could have ever asked for. But sadly I have also been battling a heroin addiction since I was 18 which lead to an addiction to Meth for the past year as well... I'm not at all proud of this and it brings me to tears every time I think about it. I was very excited about this pregnancy partly because I felt like a child of my own would withhold the power, strength, and control over quiting these disgusting habits. I still have yet to see a doctor because I'm afraid of CPS taking away my child or afraid of the harsh and cruel side affects that I may have already forced upon my innocent child. I'm assuming I'm around 4 months pregnant. I'm not even really showing either. I am So terrified of all the consequences that both my baby and will soon endure. If there are any other mom's who can relate or any who  have/are going through this  as well, PLEASE LET ME. KNOW YOUR STORY...this keeps me up all night just tossing and thinkin and yet still left in the same **** hole of addiction ;(

I met a girl at court one day , she was in the same situation as yourself . She was addicted to heroin and crystal . She was a very nice and young girl about 20 yrs old at that time . That day she asked me if I was down to smoke s h i t with her and I told her I don't roll with that . Out of curiousity I asked her why was she still doing drugs if she knows she's pregnant . And she said her dr told her to cut back as much as she could cus if she stops completely , the baby and her can both go through withdrawls . She confessed to me she hated being addicted to drugs and she wants thr best for her baby so as soon as she knows her baby is born healthy she would stop for the best . I wished her the best in her situation and ran into her about 4 months ago . She had cleaned herself up for the sake of her baby and herself .
So see your dr will help you in whatever situation you're in , don't be scared and seek for help . Cus if you don't seek help you'll be wondering what ifs All the time . Do what you feel is best for yourself and your baby . We all make mistakes in life that's how we learn . I wish you and your baby the best !

I wasn't showing at four months either and I'm sober so that may not be anything to worry about but you need to go to see a doctor asap. The longer you wait the more harm your doing... do the best you can to stay clean and live in a safe environment for you, baby & baby daddy and no one will take your baby

Talking from personal experience, find a good ob then tell then your situation. You will NEVER be in trouble for asking for help. Your doctor will have seen it before. It is important that you get off of everything the right way while pregnant. You can't blame yourself, things happen and life happens. The worry and stress will make things so much more difficult. Keep your head up and start taking the steps, but don't expect it to be easy. You might need to cut some of the bad influences out of your life and lean more on the people who can help. Its very scary to make the first step, but I can assure you things well get better. And, if it helps I'm now 28weeks with a very healthy baby girl. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I'm not in your.situation but I will pray for you and you need to try and get help asap before you either kill your baby or cause it to have birth defects :( good luck to you hun just be honest with your Dr. As long as you are trying to get clean I don't think they will take your baby but nothing good will come out of it either way if you just keep waiting

I too struggled with a crystal meth addiction during pregnancy so i feel for you. I was terrified about the effects on my bubba and felt guilty everyday. The best thing you can do as a mother is to be honest with yourself and your health professionals.. Your doctor can offer support and help to get you through this. I could never totally quit but i did cut down my use. My doctor told me that the stress from withdrawls would hurt the baby just as much as the drug itself. Like me you might find that as bub grows and you feel them moving and you grow attached its easier to cut down because the love and care you have for them mentally helps you because you dont want anything bad to happen.. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy 8 weeks ago. I have never used heroin though and i have read babys get withdrawls after birth from that but if your honest with.the docs they can help the little one get through that. As long as you show you care and are honest i dont believe cps will get involved at all. Your definatley not the only mum to be going through this its just most are too scared or dont care enough to ask for help. I wish you and your baby all the best. I hope all goes well for you :) if you ever need to chat or some advice email me at ***@****.

Hey sweetie , sorry to hear about your situation . I can't relate to what u are going through but it sounds like u need a friend and someone to talk to . I'm not sure what kind of advice to give u . but if u want to start being the best mom ever than go to the doctor and help your self and the baby. CPS may get called and they may not . But if they do  get called as long as u stay clean and they test u  through out your pregnancy and after u give birth they can not take your baby . so sweetie take the first step in the right direction. We all go through things in life where we feel there if no hope of faith .... Or just a way out  and if u feel alone just look up and let god handle it .   I don't know no but u but I have  4 kids and my 5 the on the way and if I can do anything for u or u need to talk I'm here for u  just think of that baby and how u want to pprotected it the rest of life and start now :-)  good luck sweetie

Be honest with your dr. That's your best bet.. let him/her help you wean off from drugs, if you're honest and straight forward, they will help you from the get go, if you lie and try to hide it, CPS will get called. Not if you're trying to fix the problem, I can assure you, your OB will have dealt with this before.. He/she sees hundreds of thousands of patients... and can help you the best of anyone else. Also, your insurance will cover helping you recover if it's in the best interest of you and baby, otherwise, I doubt insurance wouldn't Def. be honest with him, CPS will not take your baby away if you're doing the best you can.. and being honest. good luck hun.
