early scan worries?? HELP

I had a midwife appointment we both worked out from my LMAO I would be 8+4 to date, I went for an early scan, it (external) and was only showing size at 6+6?? But very clear and strong heartbeat has anyone else had this? I've heard dates and lengths will regulate around 12 weeks ?? I'm worried to say the least STILL not a symptom in sight

With how far along u r a vaginal ultrasound is the best since baby is so small I had my first ultrasound at what I thought was nine weeks I was very sure of my lmp as I track them but baby only measured 5 weeks and 6 days with a good heartbeat I was freaked out really scared of losing it but I went backin 2 weeks for another ultrasound and I was showing as 8 weeks then at my 20 week ultrasoundeeveryThing measured fine with the due date I got from my eight week ultrasound I'm 39 weeks and have a c section on Thursday :)
