face feels weird

I had my first baby 3 days ago. She is perfect and healthy. I have not been able to taste since the day before she was born. And my tounge has a weird numb feeling but I feel pain and hot and cold. Now I cant smile on the left side, I also can't wink my left eye tho it closes if I blink. I don't have any head aches or pains outside of the aches and soreness from delivery. Should I go to ER or just call my doc in the a.m.?

Yeah, that's what happened with my husband. It's not numb, you just can't move it. He couldn't taste either.

Yes could be Bell's palsy! But it is necessary to get checked to make sure. They'll give you a scan and check it out.

Its not numb tho, it just doesn't move like it should. Like it moves a little when I smile but I can't show my teeth on the left. It looks like I'm smirking when I'm trYing to show all my teeth

It goes away but sometimes it can take months before it does. That's not for sure what it is so definitely go get checked out!

It kind of sounds like Bell's palsy. My husband had it for a month last year. It's just the nerve in your face that stops responding for a small amount of time and it usually happens when your immune system is already compromised from something. He has been fine for months now, but it was annoying for him when it happened. You do have to see a doctor or go to the hospital though just so they can confirm that's it. It is similar to stroke symptoms so it's always better to check.

Many things can cause a stroke, you need to go in ASAP. It could be something else, but if your face is numb and only the left side of your face won't move much, it sounds like one. You definitely need to be checked.

After delivery you are prone to blood clots. Strokes are caused blood clots in the brain. It may not be a stroke, but numbness in the face can be a symptom of a number of problems.
