few questions about preterm birth and labour

Okay this isn't my first child it's my 5 all my kids have been born preterm (36,35,18, and 33wks). As you can see I lost a daughter at 18wks which was the worst thing my family had to go though. When we were trying for our second child my doctor tought me how to check my cervix, during my pregnancies I have never checked my cervix. Last week I went into preterm labour at 32wks exactly, they managed to stop labour with morefen (sp?) and said my cervix was on the short side and dialated about 2cm but nothing to worry about also said if i was to go into labour again they would not try to stop it. Since then I still will have contractions off and on but nothing that really stays. (please no bashing) So i checked my cervix this morning and there is nothing there, I feel i'm alittle dialated. Does this mean if I am actually fully enfaced that labour will start soon again? Also i have had steriod shots.
Thank-you

then it could be possible that they have faith that you will make it upto 37wks.. you are getting injections so hopefully everything will go smoothly.. they should perform testings to give you proper answer that why you end up having preterm labour.. but i know its hard coz some of the causes are very unknown.. just make sure you are mentally prepared just eat healthy and drink water etc :)

he was going to stitch me up and i was on bed rest but this pregnancies i have had no complactions up til last week. So early on he didn't want to take a chance. With all my other children I had contraction start at around 18wks and was hospitalized off and on though out the pregnancy. This one has been completly different. So he has backed off quit a bit.

Looking at your history your doctors should give you good explaination regarding preterm labours.. alot of women having preterm labour usually get a stitch in 2nd trimester to make sure water doesnt break.. it could be possible that you might go into labour however if you should stay in complete bed rest and also i have heard women being dilated upto 2cm and going full term.. just try and relax and drink plenty of water so you dont catch any kind of infection..  even if you make it till 37wks baby will be mature :)... best of luck hun.. and i m sorry u hve to go through this...
