first language

Want some opinions on what would be best ! I speak English and Spanish and I want my daughter to know Spanish as well . What's best learning Spanish first or English first ? Personally, I was born in the U.S but my first language was Spanish and didn't learn English until I was 5 years old and to this day people say I have a small accent .
Opinions ladies !?

From what I understand it's actually best to have one parent who speaks to the child in only one language and the other parent (or involved adult) who speaks in only the other language. Learning simultaneously helps the child to remember them both fluently.

N see my hubbys side well his parents spoke english to them n their only source of spanush was grandma n grandpa n school friends n sadly wen i met him his spanish was horrible he couldnt talk to my parents he could understand most of it but struggled n well now its better bcz of me n my family he had to relearn it. At A Young Age, Children Can Learn As Many Languages As They Are Exposed To. Definately Speak Spanish To Your Daughter Because She Will Learn English Quickly In School. You Can Also Speak Both In The Home So She Will Learn Both Languages At A Young Age. My First Language Is English, But I Am Fluent In Spanish, And My boyfriends First Language Is Spanish. We Will Be Teaching Our Child Both From The Beginning.

I have two different friends that speak both and they teach their babies both (under 2yrs old) and i noticed they know a little bit of each language but they are a lot more behind on just one language. Like instead of knowing  twenty words in english only, they know only 5 words in english and 5 in spanish. I have no idea what others experience with it is like, this is just how both of these babies are and they are not associated with one another.

My daughter's first language is English, but I'm teaching her spanish here at home before school starts. She understands almost everything and says a couple words. It's up to you whatever you think is easier for your child.
