From what I understand it's actually best to have one parent who speaks to the child in only one language and the other parent (or involved adult) who speaks in only the other language. Learning simultaneously helps the child to remember them both fluently.
personally i say spanish because english shes gana learn regardless alll of my family speaks spanish but alll the kids including myself learned spanish first n then learned english in school n most of them dont have an accent.. N see my hubbys side well his parents spoke english to them n their only source of spanush was grandma n grandpa n school friends n sadly wen i met him his spanish was horrible he couldnt talk to my parents he could understand most of it but struggled n well now its better bcz of me n my family he had to relearn it. For both our girls their gana learn spanish first n then english in school.. My 3yr old knows more spanish than english bcz grandma watches n that's they speak at the house... n well my nephews are hispanic but they don't know or understand very lil spanish
Ahahahha yeah at my house we only speak english now I speak some spanish to them so they can catch up a little. I'm gonna speak more spanish to my daughter its really good for them to be bilingual.
At A Young Age, Children Can Learn As Many Languages As They Are Exposed To. Definately Speak Spanish To Your Daughter Because She Will Learn English Quickly In School. You Can Also Speak Both In The Home So She Will Learn Both Languages At A Young Age. My First Language Is English, But I Am Fluent In Spanish, And My boyfriends First Language Is Spanish. We Will Be Teaching Our Child Both From The Beginning.
I have two different friends that speak both and they teach their babies both (under 2yrs old) and i noticed they know a little bit of each language but they are a lot more behind on just one language. Like instead of knowing twenty words in english only, they know only 5 words in english and 5 in spanish. I have no idea what others experience with it is like, this is just how both of these babies are and they are not associated with one another.
@actright lol that's how my little brother is I hate it haha. I can't watch spanish tv without having him ask every 5 min what the person said its frustrating lol
My daughter's first language is English, but I'm teaching her spanish here at home before school starts. She understands almost everything and says a couple words. It's up to you whatever you think is easier for your child.
Spanish first the babybwill learn english in school. I regret not doing it with my boys they don't know howto speak spanish at all they understand it but can't speak it. When my mom or any family member that dosent speak english talks to them they answer back in english lol it kinda sux.
English is the hardest language start with Spanish first, but speak English as well Spanglish
Definitely spanish first, your baby will learn English regardless
@babyg92 lol we were opposites ! It was so hard to learn English at a later age lol.
@jmb4611 That's what I was thinking , but most my family is spanish speaking so I think it will be a challenge.
Id Start With English Then Move To Spanish
both can be good. my mom taught me spanish up until i was 5 also. but after that i was speaking english and now i hardly know how to speak spanish lol. my baby will have to speak both because my grandma only knows spanish lol.
