first midwife appointment!!!!
This is my first and I decided to go the midwife route. What do midwifes do on your first appointment?
I had my first prenatal with a midwife on Thursday. She listened to my heart, and baby's heart (I cried when I heard my baby's heartbeat)! We also did blood work, urine tests, she felt for my uterus, answered questions & we did paperwork & paid our deposit to reserve our homebirth (they only do one homebirth per month)
It depends how far along you are too. If you are at least 12 weeks they will try to listen to the heartbeat with a Doppler.
They will exam you, draw blood for lots of tests. Then the normal weight check, blood pressure. They will give you resources also.
