flu shot????

I am due in November which is normally when the flu starts going around in my area. My question is how do all you mommies to be feel about getting a flu shot? I have never got one before and neither have my other two children. For the past 2 years both of my kids have caught the flu right before Christmas... that being said I'm debating on getting the shot for everyone in my family this year.

Honestly, My mother in law is a L & D nurse and she said the only woman she has ever helped deliver a baby for who did not live was a woman who had caught the common flu and her body could not handle it. Pregnant woman already have weakened immune systems and getting the flu can be a very big deal. I would do it just to be safe!

The flu shot is for respiratory flu, not for the stomach flu. A girl I knew got the flu toward the end of her pregnancy and it turned into pneumonia and she had to have an emergency c section at like 30 weeks and she ended up passing away from it never having been able to hold her baby because they had to put her in a medical induced coma. That being said, I have gotten a flu shot with every pregnancy and every year to protect my little ones with weak immune systems.

I get a shot every year, religiously. I make hubs get one as well... so does our son. When I was not pregnant with him in the first few weeks I got the flu and it was terrible. I got one not long after that and don't regret it at all. I'll be getting one with this prdgnancy as well as soon as I am able.
