hello doctor Brown. i was jus reading what you told tyty09 and got curious. i was pregnant not to long ago and at 25 weeks i had this discharged and called my doctor and what he did was that he sent a RX to the pharmacy for this cream that was more like gell and i did it for 6 days in a row. and it lokked to me that my discharged was stopping but it really stated to be more. then my doctor sena another RX to the pharmacy of one pill and i took it. next thay around 5am i had cramps and went  to the ER  on april 6where they told me that i was about 4cm dialated. i was transfered to another hospital  and after a lot of test they determined that my amniotic fluid was leaking. but they waiteb until deliver my baby about 2 days later. 0n april 5 after i saw my doctor and he tols me at that time that everything was ok. my baby died there was nothing they could do they said. next day they told me that the baby had gotten a bacteria. was my discharged caused by the rupture i had? please let me know, thank you

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would ask you to come in immediately to rule out ruptured membranes.  There are several tests that can be done to determine if amniotic fluid is leaking, and I would want to know that right away.
More often, the fluid is leaking from the bladder due to pressure from the growing baby.
There is not too much that can be done about these occasional leaks, except to wear a pad.  Some women find pelvic floor exercises beneficial, and doing them is a really good idea.
Good luck!
