foley balloon ??

I'm supposed to be getting induced on tuesday but my doctor wants me to come in on Monday to get a foley balloon put in to soften my cervix because it's not softened at all. Can someone enlighten me on it?

I have had that and personally that was the most painful part even more than the contractions or the pushing. That balloon did hurt a lot for me. But I have high tolerance for pain so I guess it depends on each individual but it is very uncomfortable though !

I had one done while i was in labor with my first. I was induced with her and want dilating. It did hurt quite a bit for me. I hope it's easier for you guys :)

I'm getting it done on Monday also. From what I learned it's entered into the cervix to make it dilate to 4 cm and sometimes it falls out on its own or the doctor will pull it out. It's not suppose to cause contractions but I've heard it's uncomfortable and painful. That's all I found on the internet
