this is a stupid question i know but...

I'm kinda confused.. ive been told that when your water brakes its a big gush of water but then again ive been told by someone who not along ago had a baby that she felt and heard a pop and only a little bit of water came out but that was her water braking..my question?  How dp you know for sure your water has broke and is it true that there can only be a little bit of water? And well can you hear it pop?

I had my l/o on the 2nd of april this year. I was lying down and heard a small pop and decided to wake up, then water came out( not much though) i just knew it was it i had no contractions until an hour and 13minutes before labor

It could be a small gush my last two have popped when I vomited right before labor one nurse actually told me that since I had contractions and threw up their was no was she was going to send me home cuz that baby was coming and he was born in less than an hour after

I didn't feel my water break at all with my last pregnancy . I got induced . I was in to much pain . I didn't feel it break , I didn't hear a pop or nothing . The nurse came in to check me and she's like "did you know your water broke" and I was like "no I didn't" and then they had to break it the rest of the way . Some women go into labor and their water still don't break and the docs gotta break it .

When my water broke, it was just trickling down my leg.. so I put a pad on n it kept getting soaked. The I  called l&d n they said that water broke.. but I had no contractions at all,  so when I got to the hospital the put me on pitocion.

The doctors broke mine for me and it was a huge gush lol It felt like I was peeing for a long time haha

When my water broke it was a small trickle. It took me about 2 hours to figure out that's what it was. When I would stand up my daughter's head would act as a plug but whenever I would lie down a little bit would come out and it eventually start gushing out.

But like shouldn't i know for sure in some way? Like shouldn't I be have contractions before this happens?

When your water goes it could be a small trickle or a huge gush. If you aren't sure then you should put a pad in your knickers and go to your labor dept and they can test it for you
