glucose test in the am

Quick question ladies tomorrow morning I have my glucose test waiting for the dr to call back to answer this question but how long do I have to fast before hand what all does it entail please help.

I finally got ahold of someone in office no food or drink except water after midnight until after my appointment thank goodness it's at 8 I'm gonna be one cranky mommah until then. I'm hoping it's not too bad and hoping to pass the test

The day I took mines, I just didn't eat much sugar that day. Everything was fine. Everyone says the drink is sweet, but if you're used to eating sweets it shouldn't be bad at all. It was pretty easy for me to drink it.

Mine said fast from 9th night before 9 am appointment then once that blood is drawn drink the evil potion thingy then 2 hrs later have another blood test then you can finally eat :)

I did mine yesterday and I didn't have to fast. I would just suggest you don't eat anything with sugar before hand

I have mine tomorrow too! And my doc told me nothing 12hrs before my appointment not even water. So since my appointment is at 10am, I cant eat or drink after 10 tonight.

Yup, mine said nothing to eat or drink past midnight. Some docs don't make you fast though.

My doctor, told me after 12am you can't eat anything after tht. Not even the morning or mine was going to get cancel. You have 5min to drink it. & wait an hr to get your blood drawn to see if your glucose came bk normal. If you throw up they cancel it.

I know some ladies that don't have to and some that start at midnight without eating.

I can't remember but I believe you can't eat an hour before drinking it Eat light, not much sugar. Drink the drink, um I believe like 30 minutes before your appt and they draw blood exactly an hour after the time you drank it.
