glucose test

Hey you guys..I will be six months on Tuesday and my next doctors appointment will be when I'm 26weeks and one day....I should be having my glucose tolerance test soon....I was wondering how was it for some of you? Like what was the process you had to go through? I'm just really curious before I have mime..thanks

Your doc will explain if u have to fast or not because I didn't have to fast for mine but basically u drink the drink within 5 minutes and u wait an hour and they draw ur blood but b
try not to throw up because u will have to do it again

the night before my appt i wasnt allowed to eat past midnight. then when i got there they did a fasting draw to test my blood sugar after fasting, then they give you the "juice" its almost like pure sugar lol it made my baby do flips. its really a liquid glucose supplement, i had orange flavor, kind of tasted like orange soda, without the carbonation. then i had to wait an hour, do another blood draw, then i had to wait another hour to do another blood draw. it flew by fast. :)

Depends. I had to do the 2 hour test and get my blood drawn 3 times. And  the lab ended up messing up my blood work so i had to do the test again a few weeks later. Its not so bad, i had the orange flavored drink. and i only felt a little dizzy. Oh and you have to fast for 8 hours beforehand.

Don't be surprised if you get nausea, headache, etc, its a pretty powerful drink, drink it quick!!

I think it's the same everywhere, basically, but here, they give you a cup full of juice, here it's fruit punch, VERYYY sugary, and then an hour later they draw your blood, that was about it for me! If you fail it, then you may have to do a second test, good luck!!
