glucose test

So yesterday i had my test done and got a call that i failed it and have to retest with a 3 hour wait instead of 1. I have been eating a lot of junk food my whole pregnancy. If i get diabetes will it go away? Will my baby have it?

How far along do you do that testing?

Yeah with the one hour one i tested at 10 am and didn't eat nothing since the night before around 8.

You have to fast before the 3 hour for 8-12 hours to get accurate reading. And yes it usually goes away however you will be tested and baby will be tested after birth if you have it cuz it can be passed to baby.

Im hoping i dont fail that one. Im just so addicted to milkshakes and cake lol. Right now i love sweet tea and before i always drank unsweet and things like that. As long as my baby is fine im happy but i really hope i pass this one.

Most of the time gestational diabetes goes away with delivery but your risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life is a lot higher. I have never heard of a baby developing it however after birth if its not controlled baby will have trouble keeping his or her blood sugar under control and may need help. Just because u fail the 1 hr doesnt mean u will fail the 3. Think positive!

I have the same questions I'm actually here doing the 3 hour one now because I failed the 1 hour one I see my doctor tomorrow so I will ask more about it but I wanted to first see how I fl on this one

It does go away sometimes and as far as baby getting it I have never heard of that happening. Just because u fail the one hour doesn't mean u will fail the 3 hr test
