glucose test..

So my doctor and his nurse didn't really tell me much about my glucose test other than to drink the drink an hour before my appointment and to not eat or drink anything after that. But do I need to fast before or what? I don't want to fail. Lol

I'll just eat when I get home from my test. They said my appointment wouldn't take long. They do all of the testing and lab work right in my doctors office so it makes it a little nicer. So, hopefully it goes well. lol

I would just eat tonight then tomorrow wait until after test to eat ... Bring lunch with you because they take a while to bring back your results

It's only if you fail the 1st hour test ... They will then tell u that u need to take the 3 hour test .. That's when u can't eat or drink anything after midnight the night before then during your 3 hour visit they will give u the drink and that's all u can have until the test is over .

I have to wait until 2pm to take mine, so I won't get to eat all day. I wish I could just go do it in the morning..

I have my normal appointment along with the test tomorrow. And I get two shots, not including the blood draw for the glucose test. Lucky me! lol Maybe I'll just fast for like 8 hours instead of all day.

How long are you supposed to fast for?

They say it's better to fast. My OB had me fast & said it really is best for that kind of test to prove how you tolerate the extra sugar. I still failed :(

They told me not to eat an hour before I drank the drink. Then after the drink nothing but water. I was not told to fast for 8-10 hours and I passed with a perfect score. Good luck its not that bad

Yea, they sent me home with the drink. My appointment is at 2pm. So maybe I'll just eat dinner tonight then not eat before my appointment tomorrow.
