I actuall have mine today. I had my doctor appointmemt uesterday (half hour away) but there is a branch of the hospital where theyldo lab work a mile from my house. I guess I go in and register and tthey will give me thendrink and I will lounge around for an hour and they will draw my blood. I just need to get the motivation to get dressed to do it because I dont have a certain time I need to do it.

I was told I could eat fats no sweets but I fasted I didnt eat past 9pm and my test was at 10am. I went in drank the orange drink they give you 5 minutes to drink it. I actually liked it lol it tasted like orange crush.  I waited an hour then they drew my blood.
I ended up failing that test :( I was very worried.  I had to do the 3 hour test.  This time I wasn't so strict I ate a good dinner from Boston Market a little late. Went in the morning at 8am they gave me the orange drink but this one was 100mg compared to the last one which was 50mg.  It was way sweeter and made me nauseous. I had my blood drawn.  Waited an hour had my blood
drawn. Waited an hour had my blood drawn.Waited an hour and had my blood drawn.
My blood was drawn 4 times!
I ate a peanut butter jelly sandwich and went home. My results came back normal so I passed. Thank God.

Tbh a lot of women make it sound so bad. I didn't think it was that bad at all. I actually kind of liked the drink lol I drank it in less then a min.  I chose the fruit punch and it tasted just like fruit punch but a lot sweeter, that's all it is, just a super sweet drink.  If you like sweets you'll be fine :) then you'll wait an hr and they'll take some blood that's it :) I did just fine I didn't get nauseous or anything, but my baby was bouncing around like crazy! lol :)))

The drink is too sweet and you have to drink it all when they tell you to! Each experience is different I had two glucose test with my first two and yes I did have gestational diabetes! It was diet controlled and both deliveries were vaginal! The best thing you can do get plenty of rest before and have something interesting to read or some nice music whatever soothes you!  The multiple needle sticking and waiting  made me tired and anxious! Take you a healthy snack for after the last test! You maybe hungry!  You won't need anyone to drive you home!

My doctor had me drink mine at the beginning of my appointment, by the time she had checked all of the normal check up stuff, it had been an hour and they checked my blood sugar. Since I passed I don't know what happens if you fail. But from my understanding its a three hour process of you do. It didn't really make me sick, just made my throat burn

Well every doctor is different mines had me take the drink home n keep it in the frig so the day of my apt I drank it exactly a hour before my apt soon as I walked in they drew my blood n I had my normal apt it did make me very nausea for a few hours my doctor said it was normal n they called a few days later with the results I passed so I didn't have to go back for the 3 hr test in which they would draw your blood every hour
