I looked up information on this and I seen pictures of people who had this test done had a lot of bruises and I'm freaked out and don't want to take this test is it bad If I ask my doctor if I can skip out on this test

I couldn't eat past midnight for my test. Some drs make you fast, some don't.

I did my test 5 days ago. Had to do a high carb diet for three days then fast for 12 hours before the test. You drink that drink and they do bloods. I had a finger prick test and bloods done before drinking the drink and the two bloods taken 55 mins after drink then 55 mins after that. I bruised from the needles but that's normal for me. You will be ok.

I just took mine yesterday. She drew my blood. I drank some Gatorade flavored drink  waited an hour and then she drew my blood again. And that was that. The only bad part is not being able to eat or drink for an hour. I figured if I take it in the morning I'd be good. But because I just woke up and went straight to the doc ...by time I was seen I was weak and dehydrated and took forever to get a vein. o I recommend you eat first then wait awhile before you go get the test.

The bruises are probably from the blood draw usually the only time you get that is if the phlebotomist is not good at taking blood. The drink is not all that bad. The test is very important.

Yeah I don't know where you're getting that info from. I don't see why you would get bruises.   You drink a sugary drink in 5 minutes. .wait an hour and get your blood drawn. It's an important test that you shouldn't refuse. It's important for your baby.

Bruises o_O ....umm i didnt get bruises i just had to drink a cold drink that tasted like gatorate to me and then waited 30 mins and went and got blood drawn its nothing. A peice of cake! They just need to check your overall sugar levels ..check for ges. Diabetes
