haha thats funny bc ive been gaging almost everytime i brush my teeth...ugh. its so weird what stuff happens when ur preg...haha
You know what other part of pregnancy/your mouth is annoying? When I was pregnant with my daughter I would always throw up from brushing my teeth. it was horrible. I asked my dentist about it, and she told me it was common and something about toothpaste and increased gag reflex made it easy to throw up while brusing your teeth. I just think its funny how a baby growing in uterus can have such a big impact on your mouth, lol.
gosh so i wonder since i got it so early if im screwed and gonna get the whole time im preg...weird
Hey found this on the American Pregnancy Associate website:
Swollen gums, which may be sore and more susceptible to bleeding, are common during pregnancy. This inflammation of the gums is called gingivitis. Pregnancy gingivitis is caused by the hormonal changes that increase the blood flow to the gum tissue and cause your gums to be more sensitive, irritable and swollen.
The hormonal changes also hinder the body's normal response to the bacteria which causes periodontal infections. This makes it easier for plaque to build up on your teeth and makes you more susceptible to gingivitis. The severity of pregnancy gingivitis usually increases in the second trimester and disappears within a couple of days after delivery.
