Oh and if you plan on breastfeeding, all the things for that. If you plan on formula feeding, they will have formula there for you to feed baby, but keep in mind if you're on WIC, it may not be the same formula that they'll pay for, so there's a small chance baby might not drink the "new stuff" and you'll have to fight with them about it and get your doctor involved

What I packed:
In the diaper bag- 2 outfits for each day in the hospital (usually 3 days) as new babies spit up A lot, pacifiers, a few pairs of socks, a couple of hats (although most likely the hospital will give you a hat, so you don't really need to pack that), mittens (in case baby was a face scratcher, which she was for awhile), balmex (or your choice of butt cream),and a warm blanket for her.
In my bag- a couple of my favorite movies, a good book, my robe and slippers, sweat pants and a loose t-shirt, extra clothes for dad.
Things I wish I'd thought to pack and won't forget this time- my own comfy pillow (theirs just aren't right), my favorite candy, something fluffy to cuddle with (those beds are so incredibly uncomfortable after you give birth, would've been nice to have something to squeeze/cry into lol), shampoo and conditioner (they most likely won't have any, or it'll suck like hotels), toothbrush (totally forgot about it at the last minute :/), lotion for my dry *** skin lol.

Things they gave me at the hospital to keep: thermometer, nasal aspirator (also known as a bulb syringe, the thing you suck the boogies out with), hat, blanket, tucks pads, a package of super pads, dermoplast(to numb the pain of my stitches along with the tucks pads), diapers, a small basin type container that she had her first bath in, a hemorrhoid donut, and a disc about "the period of blue crying", along with a packet about all the things new moms need to know.

Also, if you have a baby book, bring it so they can do the foot and hand prints for you. If you don't, they should have something to do it on for you. They should ask you about it, but mention it beforehand just in case.
Good luck! Sorry this is so long lol

All hospitals provide different things. I've packed a night gown, sun dress (just in case of a c-section) a few panties even though the mesh ones they give you will probably be more comfortable and a pair of pants. Also a few nursing pads. Shampoo/conditioner. Deodorant. As for baby a going home out fit a couple onsies and a bobo (pacifier) most hospitals provide the diapers.
