hernia surgery while preg.

I am 18 weeks and have 2 umbilical hernias.  My ob sent me to a surgeon to have them looked at. The surgeon wants to do surgery dec 22 at 20 weeks. He said 2nd trimester has the lowest risk to baby. Im nervous jist because of the baby. Has anyone had surgery while pregnant?

I would wait love. I wouldn't risk ot. Just because I would want the baby to be okay. This my 3rd pregnancies & had this hernia for 4 years now & barely finding out its a hernia so my ob is referring me to her surgeon after I give birth.

Im 18 weeks in 2nd trimester. Dr says the risk is lower in 2nd trimester and hernia is getting bigger causing more pain. I want the baby to be okay

I have one as well they said it is best to wait until you have the baby because the risk is much lower and no way of hurting the baby i would talk to your dr about waiting until your 6 week check up you will have pain but i would rather have pain then the possability of losing my baby
