I decided to have a home birth before I saw the movie. The movie just made me a lot more confident with my choice. I'm a first time mom and I'm having a water birth at home.
If all goes smoothly at the birthcenter with me this time i wull def be doing a himebirth for my next baby.
The business of being born completely changed my mind and scared me away from hospitals. Everyone i know is being induced at least a week early for NO reason and its so annoying. I hate it. I am having a water birtgh at a birthing center with wonderful midwives. Im 37 weeks today and ao excited to experiencs my labor. Mt birthing center doesnt offer epidural or anything...i cant wait.
I am same with doula mommy I considered it before watching the movie. I wanted to have a homebirth with my first but my mind was set on experiencing all types of birthing options so I chose hospital my first and I hated my ob I hated their "protocol" I hated everything. I felt like I was treated as a patient rather then a mother. Love the movie business of being born. Just waiting for my baby to show up any day now so I can experience my homebirth.
My friend 6w ahead of me and myself are both considering it. The documentary got the idea rolling and had me question a lot of assumptions I had about how I "had" to give birth. Our hospital has a natural birthing option, and we feel it's a great option just in case anything goes wrong or I just need help. Good luck!
I wanted a home birth even before watching it, but I read the book she wrote about her experience making the film. If I hadn't been chicken last time (not to mention renting an apartment!) I'd have gone for home birth. But just before I was due I labor say with my sister and watched her beg for an epidural so I decided to go to the hospital just in case.
I also wanted a water birth but I wanted to know I could make it through labor before I spent money on a birthing tub. Now that I've had a pitocen assisted labor with no drugs, I know I can do it again! My hubby is still not okay with the idea of home birth, but he's agreed to tour the local birth centers with me!
