horrible metallic/bloody taste in mouth

Hi. I am 20 weeks pregnant and I have been having this awful metallic taste in my mouth. Sometimes its bloody taste instead. I have 3 boys and I didn't have this happen with either of my pregnancies. My oldest is 8 and my twins are 5. I'm just wondering if this is normal and if there is any remedies for it. Thank you :)

Thank you for your input. I'm thinking it might be from my prenatals that I'm taking or the nausea medicine I am on. I wish it was a sign of a girl..lol I find out Monday what I'm having but with 3 boys, a girl would be amazing :)

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
HI!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that the taste you mention might be related to a vitamin or supplement that you are taking.  It is unusual to have a metallic taste in the absence of any medications.  You might benefit from a trip to your dentist to rule out gingivitis as a cause too.
I haven't read or heard anywhere that it is a symptom of a girl baby!  =)
Good luck!

From what ive read the metallic taste in your mouth is a normal symptom during pregnancy. Some women have it and some dont but to chew gum, or hard candy, mints and stuff to at least give you some relief from it even if it isnt long.
