Putting out cups of sweet vermouth draw the gnats n flies n they get stuck in the stickiness of the alcohol. I wld try that before filling your house with chemicals. Im a bartender and that's the trick we use to keep them out of the alcohol spouts and beer taps.

For fruit flies put vinegar in a jar. Them lmake a cone out of paper and place that in the mouth of that and tape it in place. The flies f fly in and can't get out! Don't get the paper wet with the vinegar. There are examples on line. Works really well. Nut sure about the gnats. Obviously put away any fruit sitting out.

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that it is safe for you to go into the house afterwards as long as you have good ventilation and lots of fresh air at that point.  If you can open a window, that would be best (don't know how cold it is where you live, but we don't have too many bugs here this time of year, so suspect you are further south!)
If you are cleaning, it wouldn't be a bad idea to use gloves too.
Good luck!

thanks for responding. My problem is gnats or fruit flies and I've tried different ways that I've seen online but so far it's not working because there are so many so the fogger is my last resort.

I don't feel they are safe at all. depending on what your problem is and how bad there are other ways of pest control. If it is fleas, you can combine 1cup of Borax, 1 cup of baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger. sprinkle on carpets, in sofas, on mattresses. Use a broom to push it into the carpet. do this every three days for two weeks, then once a week. If you problem is ants or roaches. you can do the above plus put little piles, or lids filled, with Borax, in your cabinets, and on the corners of you rooms. If the problem continues after doing this, use the fogger, but let SOMEONE ELSE air it out and clean it well.
