how early is too early

My period should not come until around january 9th but I feel pregnant. we have been trying for 5 months so I don't want to get my hopes up. Should I wait until January 9th to take a test or when should I be able to check?

Good to know. What kind of symptoms did you have before your missed period?

This is my third pregnancy and with every one I started experiencing symptoms one and a half weeks BEFORE my period was due but never tested positive until about 2 days before my missed period.

Id wait until you have at least missed your period. I'm almost 6 wks pregnant and I found out at 4 wks 3 days. There's NO rush. If you are, you are. I wished id have waited bc now I'm super paranoid about everything involving the baby. My husband and I had been trying 15 months with at least 6 times we thought we were and were heartbroken with a negative response.   I know its absolutely maddening but try to wait until you've missed it. Stressing might make your period pokey as well. Early pregnancy signs also mirror PMS. I had zero symptoms at all, I only tested cuz I was 4 days "late", but my period is always irregular so it didn't mean much at the time. Save your $$ and your sanity. Trust me :P

It's always best to wait till your cycle is due. This prevents getting upset from false negatives and wasted tests.
