From week 36-40 the baby's brain does a lot of maturing as well as their lungs. I'm sure the baby would be healthy but I would always prefer to keep them in as long as necessary.

My midwife told me at my 36 week appointment that if I have her now she's be completely healthy..... I'd rather wait the full 40 though.  All Dr's and midwives have different answers

American association of pediatrics and march of dimes and all those changed it to 39 weeks a few years back. It did used to be 37 weeks but not anymore. There's a lot of final brain and lung development in those last few weeks

Some drs recognize 37 weeks and some recognize 39 weeks as full term. I would suggest asking your dr how he/she feels

Most docs say 37 weeks but it's always best to get the full 40 weeks in. I'm getting induced at 39 weeks and 5 days.
