hydrocodone for back pain?

I have a friend who is 20 weeks tomorrow and she is not prescribed them but her mother gives her pain pills(hydrocodone) when her back hurts she said at 25 weeks she is going to stop and no longer take them at all and nome but she is wondering if it could still be in his system when he is born even if she stops at 25 weeks... I sold her to stop now!(and yonder 20 weeks) because the black tar like substance is andnymoretlready backing up in babies bowel and that will come out in his first poop, which is what they test for drugs... I am just wondering what everyone else thinks...

She shouldn't be taking any medications that she's not prescribed

It may be "just a pain pill" to us but to a baby it could cause a lot of damage

If she is worried about it being in her system for another 20 week's then she must have taken allot in the first 20 weeks which to me sounds like she is addicted rather then just using them for back pain. It is super easy to get addicted to it cuz it does take pain away and it helps you sleep.

She shouldn't be worrying about if it's going to show up or not ... She should worry about the damage for the baby.... Especially if the medication is not being prescribed to her and monitor by her OB.
