i had a minor stroke at 24 weeks, anyone else?

I'm 22 and had a TIA transient ezchemic attack (minor stroke) when I was 24 weeks. Justbwondering if anyone else has had one of these and what your doctor did to prevent more TIAs and even massive stroke. I'm currently taking asprin which thins my blood out and I'm a little nervous about taking it as I get closer to my due date. I'm 30 weeks now and they said they will do tests when I get to around 36 weeks to make sure I won't bleed out after birth but what if I go into labour early. Arrgghh the stress!

I actually just read a story about a woman having a heart attack the other day and unfortunately she did not make it with her baby. The added stress on your body from the baby puts you at higher risks for all kinds of things, apparently.  In this case the increased blood flow is too much for your heart to handle and results in heart attacks in about 7% of women. I'm not too familiar with strokes other than the numbness, but I hope you are over the worst of it now.

Oh gosh I've never heard of that happening in pregnancy.  Do they know what caused it? Sorry I can't offer any advice but I'm very glad to hear it didn't hurt you or baby!
