i have Mirena birth control and im worried

ok so i had my daughter 21/2 years ago. and ive had the mirena birth control since my daughter was 6 weeks old. ever since i got the mirena i havent had an actual period at all. in 2 1/2 years. i spot like a tiny bit like one time maybe every 6 months. i literally hardely ever bleed. Its very rare when i spot. Anyways, lately ive been very emotional and moody. and i feel bloated. and ive been getting really bad pains kind of on my side. near my kidney area. they come sparatically . i bled last week for 5 days straight. and i am wondering if i could be pregnant. or if somthing might be wrong with my mirena IUD. please write bakc if you have any info. Thanks.

i agree with the above poster..maby get to the doc...i hated the mirena when i had it in for the simple reason that i never had periods either... lol...if your bleeding has changed its possible that it has moved....soo..get it checked.. :) good luck...oh and use backup if  a pregnancy is not wanted just in case it has moved...and i have heard of people getting pregnant on it..its rare but does happen so maby ask for a preg test to..it couldnt hurt just to be 100 % sure ... :)

Hi,

I would go and get checked out if your bleeding pattern has changed. It could be the mirena has moved maybe. I had regular periods whilst on the mirena and never experienced any irregular bleeding like you have mentioned.
Good luck.
