i need answers, plz help!!!!

I went to the doctor about two months ago, they told me I was pregnant, I started to bleed, like I was on my period and I called my doctor and they said it might be my body cleaning itselfs out getting ready for the baby. Well the bleeding didn't stop so I went in to the er, there they told me I was only one or two days pregnant, which wasn't right cuz I was told about being pregnant a few weeks before. I followed up with my doctor and they checked me out down there to make sure I was closed and I was. She said everything was fine. About one months later I go into the er with pains down around that area and they did blood work and took urine and said I was not pregnant, I got all upset but followed up with my doctor, she then took blood and it came back that I was pregnant and I even saw the papers. She sent me for a sono and the guy that did the sono said he didn't see anyrhing in my uterus but it doesn't matter what he says cuz he wasn't the one who reads it, so now I'm stuck waiting with no answers to what's going on. I'm so confused plz help. Could it be a ectopic pregnancy??? Or could I have lost the baby and got re pregnant and it just be to soon now to show up on a sono?? I have one child now and before this pregnancy I had one miscarriage already. Plz help and give me some answers. Thanks, jessica

When I first found out I was pregnant, my levels were 11, I know they should be going up a lot . When my doctor did blood the other day it read 170.

Hi!
Oh my goodness you poor thing!
You may have had a chemical pregnancy--this is one in which the pregnancy test goes up and then back down, and the miscarriage is similar to a period.
What you really need to find out is what the hormone levels are doing.
With my patients, I order a quantitative beta hcg, and then repeat the same test 48 hours later.  If the levels are doubling (eg first test 100 second test 199) I suspect a normal pregnancy.  If the levels are falling, I suspect a miscarriage.  If the levels are staying the same (eg first test 100 second test 114) I worry about an ectopic pregnancy.

If you were my patient, I would have you do the beta hcg tests until they reached approximately 2000 and then repeat the ultrasound.  Alternatively, I would watch the tests go down until they reached zero to be sure that the miscarriage was complete and that there was no ectopic pregnancy.

I hope this helps!
