If you're drinking or doing drugs or have HIV then yes it's bad. I was out baby shopping the other day and saw "breast milk alcohol detecting strips". I thought it's sad they even have to make those. When you're breast feeding you want to treat your body like you're still pregnant and continue prenatals so the baby has all of the nutrients they need
I guess there would be some cases in which breast feeding wouldn't be the best choice and some are listed here. But in general, it is very healthy and was really a wonderful experience for me. I was reluctant to do it when I started but ended up loving it. But ya know, like many things, this is something for each woman to decide for themselves as to what they want to do. Good luck
When your baby has a milk allergy like my younger son does then it can be bad for them my son has the milk protein allergy 2-3% of babies are born with it and he happened to be one of them we have been told that he could outgrow it by 2 but there's also a chance he could never outgrow it he almost died at 5 months because my husband bought the wrong formula and we had to rush my son to the ER as he became unresponsive
Yes, my grandma lost a baby from breast feeding. She did t have enough nutrients in her milk for the baby. You always want to make sure you have enough nutrients. Plus medication and alcohol contaminate breast milk
Also rarely some babies have bad intolerances and can't properly digest breast milk.
It's not lactose intolerent it's a rare galactose intolerance I think. If they are lactose intolerent the mom just has to drink lactaid and stay away from lactose products. Literally only if you take drugs or have hiv/hep b or c. It's awesome for your baby specially the first three days containing colostrum. It passes your immunities to the baby.
Yes. If you're drinking doing drugs have a disease that can be passed through it or smoking.
you can pump and dump after your donedrinking before you feed your baby if you drink wine or alcohol.
but it's the healthiest :)
Unless you're drinking or doing drugs breast milk is usually the optimal choice for feeding.
Yes, when your baby is lactose intolerant, or if you have HIV or if you drink alcohol or do drugs, then you shouldn't breast feed but other than that it's the healthiest safest food for baby, it's sterile and always the right temp and offers much more health benefits than formula
No..it's the best food you can give to your child
