is it normal?

I am currently 36weeks & ive only had 2 ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy. My doctor said that i probably wont have anymore. I dont understand why not atleast one more.

my question is: how will we be able to tell what position the baby is at then? & shouldnt i have one more to see the weight of the baby? & how my baby boy is doing?

I am only 11 weeks and have had 3 ultrasounds already. it all depends on your doctor and your insurance. I know with my son who is now 3 I had a different doctor and he only gave me 3 all together (only was supposed to be 2) first one at 11 weeks at my first appointment, second one at the normal 20 weeks. and 3rd one around 32 weeks because my stomach wasn't growing at all.  (also I paid for the 3d ultrasound myself, so I technically had 4 with him)  but with my new doctor, she gave me one at 6 weeks and then sent me to the hospital to get one at 8 weeks cause she couldn't see anything at 6 weeks. then at my 10 week check up she gave me another cause she couldn't find the heartbeat with her lil machine!  by chance do you have the option for the 3D ones?

Keep in mind that your insurance plays a huge part in it as well...

I'll be 37 weeks Wednesday and i've had 2. One at 20 weeks and then one last week when I was 35.2 weeks. At the last one they seen what position my baby was in and how much he weighed.

I would be bummed out. Starting at 7 weeks, I've been getting an ultrasound once every month. Every doctor is different. Once I hit 32 weeks, I'll be getting an ultrasound every 2 weeks until my due date. I sm not high risk and there are no issues. That's just how my doctor is. I would think you should get another ultrasound, but depends on the doctor.

You only get 2, 12 week dating scan and 20 week anomaly scan..feel happy as they only ever do more scans if something needs monitoring..fir example I have a 3rd one at 34 week as I have a low lying placenta, and if it hasn't shifted I'll need a c-section. So it means all is well :) midwife cam tell position etc just by feeling the bump xx

I don't know where your from but in the UK we only have 2, the last one being around 20 weeks to see the gender and growth. I think they feel for what position the baby is in but i'm not sure how else they check to make sure everything's okay other than blood tests and urine tests at most midwife appts :/
