Hey all, i havent' been on here in a while, but I have 2 quick questions. I"m on CD 13, and am not ttc.
Question 1). Is the "metallic" tast women talk about similar to what it would taste like if you put a penny in your mouth? I just had that taste..almost like a combination of blood, and iron tasting. Weird

Question 2) If women are in early pregnancy, can they get an "ulcer" type pain in their upper stomach that causes nausea?

both of those that you describe, are common when you actually have ulcers.  I have ulcers, and from time to time i'll get that nasty penny taste, also tastes like blood, and then an on and off again pain here my ulcers are.  Usually the nausea feeling follos the taste.  Also, acid reflux can do the same.  

I have heard that metallic taste is common in pregnancy, although with all 3 of mine i've never had that.  


My advice, call your doctor, set up an appt and go in and get checked for pregnancy, and then you can go about getting checked for ulcers.  They can't run all the tests if you are pregnant.

Hey Girk I have missed you a ton! I had that funky taste when I was pregnant but I was also on prenatels and that could be why! hmmmm... So otherwise shoot me a PM and let me know how you have been!

Thanks, you're probably right...I do have ulcers and the pain i'm having is like an ulcer again. B/w that and the extreme nausea, I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Just looking for confirmation.

I'd go in to see your doctor.  Usually when the nausea and pain gets really bad, it can mean the ulcer is getting worse.  Could be almost to the point of bleeding, which is bad and serious!  So when you can i'd get it checked out!!  Keep me posted though!!  =)

IDK I had both with TJ early on I do remember, But I had HORRIBLE morning sickness so it in itsself probably caused an ulcer... lol
