I just got mine, it really hurt but it was over quickly
If you get it on a fattier part of your arm it hurts less. Like if you get it on ur hand in my experience it hurts a lot more as opposed to closer to your elbow. And it's not rude at all to request someone who knows what they are doing. I know everyone has to learn but a woman in labor is not the right Guinea pig lol. When I got induced with my first I let a trainee do mine it took almost 15 mins and hurt like hell!
I had a trainee do mine and I'm not trying to scare you, in a way it should be comforting... it hurt pretty bad, but it was the only pain I felt with my whole labor. And again this was a trainee. I don't recommend them for this particular time.
I had to have an IV for antibiotics during my oldests delovery and to be honest contractions were so intense for me that I never felt it generally its just a little prick like you had when you had blood work done it doesn't hurt all that much sometimes it feels like you are getting cold water on your arm when the meds start coming through it I also ended up with an epidural by the end of my labor with my first and same feeling you barely notice
Yea i kno i dont wana seem rude to the nurses but u guys think i could ask for a nurse thats not a trainee to do it i really want someone that knows what they are doing since im not comfortable with needles?
Sorry to but it really depends on the nurse. Some are just better than others. Once it's in though it doesn't really hurt. They tape it up really good so that it doesn't get bumped around.
It didnt for me and I am scared of needles so I was nervous.
