Yeah when i was pregnant with my son i went to the interview, was asked to go back for a second interview, was hired, tjen i told them i was.pregnant, and then two days.later they said nevermnd amd made up a lame excuse, i would wait.until the job is actually yours.
I forgot to add... I made the mistake of another job finding out I was pregnant when I was like 16 weeks or so and they told me I had the job at first and I went for my drug test and I passed that and my background check but they decided to go with someone else, so I refuse to let a job know beforehand.. just my opinion :)
I had an interview with a job nd i didnt tell them i was pregnant because legally you dont have to nd plus i didnt want to risk not getting the job but i did finally tell them after i got done with orientation
I have gotten 2 jobs since being pregnant and I didn't tell either of them at the interview, I waited until I was hired and in orientation to tell them, it was a no brainer with my second job because I was already 30 weeks and showing big time
I don't think it's being dishonest. I just think they wont be as fair to you.. I'm not sure what I would do either. At my old job I waited to tell my boss and everyone told her before I got to. I regret that. Have you thought about working at a maternity store or a kid's store?
I was just having the same problem. I had an interview about 2 weeks ago at a hotel for a front desk position. What i did was went to the interview and at the end she told me to come the next morning to start training. At that point i asked if i could talk to her for a second. She thanked me for being honest with her and that it was perfectly fine. If you wait until after your hired, it'll make you look like a dishonest person. Legally you do not have to tell them. But it's the right thing to do.
I know they need cashiers because my friend works there also. My fiance says to wait until after they hire me. But my mom and dad say to tell them at the interview. So im unsure what to do
I don't know where you live but in Canada legally you only have to give two weeks notice of maternity leave. And like nikkilee and maybay said they have no right asking. Therefore say nothing about it until necessary. Don't risk your job opportunities by sharing the happy news too early with a possible employer
But they can not give you the job. They can't say it's cuz your pregnant they would have to have another excuse but likely they would tell you no.
^agree legally they can not ask you if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant, they.are not allowed to ask about your family planning, religion, s e x u a l orientation ect.
Actually by law you do not have to tell them you are pregnant. They are least likely to hire you. They will find other excuses other than you being pregnant. Tell them after they hire you unless you are unable to do the job.
I was working for a company and I found out I was pregnant so I decided to let them know bc that is a right thing to do. Two weeks after telling them I got fired. :/ so at this point I'm in a battle with them. I know I was a hard working person bc I tried to quit a month prior but they didn't want me to leave. They have a right to refuse you the job if they believe it is unsafe for you and the unborn baby.
Tell them at the interview. I was nine weeks pregnant when I started my new job.they didn't mind at all and said I have to be careful with lifting.
I was thinking that too. It's better to be upfront with people I think. Thank you (:
By law you have to inform them you're pregnant even if they don't ask. I'd tell them at the interview its only fair.
