Im 34 weeks, last week i had really bad cramps. I went to the hospital & when i got there they did a bunch of different things. Come to find out both my kidneys are full of kidney stones. I have never had one in my life before now. This is my second pregnancy. The stone that got stuck is 9mm big.  The doctor said kidney stones are common in pregnancy. But it can lead to early labor, so i spent the whole night in the hospital.  Doctor said kidney stones hurt more then labor, its so true!  Prenatal pill can cause the stones.  Just to let you all know if your hurting dont wait to ask your doctor!!!

Yeah you will know the pain..  it's like you cant do anything but go crazy.  The cramping & back pain is bad.

ohh if its stones you will KNOW kels :). ive had them with all 3 pregnancies and agree that they hurt worse than labor by far. i had to have surgery at 34wks preggo with my daughter because my kidney was dangerously swollen from blockage...not fun.

Thank you so much for letting us know this. I had no idea that can happen during pregnancy. I will keep a close eye out for anything, and are there are any other signs besides the cramping that we should look out for? I hope you feel better!!!

So glad to see a post on this! It's so common n I've even had them but wasn't pregnant at the time n yes way worse than any labor pain. But I Jus found out high salt sugar calcium n even vitamins can cause it. Any extra of something u don't need! I've been lucky so far to avoid it... 8more weeks to go. Good luck n I hope Ur feeling better. Did u pass it or did they remove Ur stone ? I had mine removed n it was a major proceeder so I wasn't sure how they do it while Ur pregnant.
