lortab and early pregnancy

I have been taking 4 Lortabs (7.5-500) a day up until the week after my missed period, which means my embryo was 3 weeks old from the conception. On the day I found out I was pregnant, I went down to 1 a day for another three days and then stopped completely. Could that almost 4-week amount have caused damage to the baby? I do not drink alcohol or smoke. And if my migraines return, is it safe to take 1-2 pill a week or better just suffer through it? Lortab is the only medication that removes the pain completely. Thank you very much! Joan

Talk to your doctor about this, but NO lortab wouldn't have hurt the baby at that early in pregnancy.
I fyou need the medication for pain then they need to put yuo on a doseage that coveres your pain amts.  I'm going to a pain mgmt doctor today to see what they're going to do about me. Up thru this pregnancy I've taken Norco (similar to lortab) at a fairly high dose every day. I'm not worried about my son.

I agree, I would talk to your Dr. about this. I assume that the lortab that you were taking was prescribed. I wouldn't think that you have done any damage as long as you are talking them as they are perscribed to you. I have been taking vicodin, lortab, and percocet (not all at once) throughout my pregnancy with the supervision of my Dr. for a very painful neurological disorder. My Dr's have told me that their only concern is that if we cannot get me off these pills (by weaning) by the time that the baby is born that the baby could face withdrawls. Not that this isn't a BIG concern, I worry about this daily, but they have told me that of all the meds that I could be taking for this that these are the "safest".
Definitely talk to your Dr. there may be a safer migraine medication, or if not they will be able to tell you the best way to manage them.
Good Luck!

THIS is definitely a question that I would be asking your doctor. I wish I could be of more help and I know how you feel. I suffer from serious anxiety and was taking klonopins twice a day and had to stop. Your doctor will be able to better advice you on what is best! Best wishes with your little bean!
