pap and pelvic exam

I watched a video on this so I'd know what to expect and in the video it showed that the doctor puts two fingers up the woman and pushes down on the stomach.  My question is being pregnant they won't do that part will they because it could hurt the baby?

They did that too me at 15 weeks. It doesn't hurt but it is very uncomfortable. It only lasts a few seconds though (:

They use that technique when they check for dilation when your 36+ weeks. I never had a pelvic exam during either of my pregnancies.
