losing weight in first trimester?

Hi ladies! I'm 9 weeks pregnant, and I've lost 5 pounds since finding out I was pregnant. Like clockwork I lose a pound a week, it stays the same weight for the week and then the next Sunday, again, a pound less. My doctor says not to worry, that it happens when you eat healthier during pregnancy, but I haven't been eating healthier than before, I'm getting all my fruits and veggies like i normally would and stuff but I've been craving  mashed potatoes and gravy and heavy fattening stuff that I never ate very often before. I am overweight, and I was overweight before pregnancy but I was always a steady/consistent weight, and couldn't lose more than a couple pounds no matter how hard I tried, that's why it's concerning me that I've lost 5 pounds while eating potatoes and gravy (when normally I'd be a few pounds heavier for days after eating that junk). Has anyone else experienced this?

Perfectly normal. I lost 15 pounds. Be careful though, I started to get cocky and started thinking I could eat whatever I wanted because I wasn't gaining anything. I ate whatever I felt like having and now, at 31 week, my doctor told me I have to eat more salads because I gained to much!

You are definitely not alone. I lost a vast amount of weight since falling pregnant in May.  I couldn't eat much. I thought maybe it was the stress of finding the news out and worrying about how I'm gonna take care of my child once he's born coz I'm unemployed. If you're not eating much now don't worry about it. It will get better in time.
